Mr Chichester said: “I am absolutely delighted to see the fantastic support Outset is delivering for new and existing businesses and to meet some of them.”

Kevin Kelway, marketing executive at Outset Plymouth, said that in the past18 months Outset has helped support 77 new businesses, with more than 60 per cent of those involved being unemployed before becoming entrepreneurs.

Rob Guy, business advisor for Outset Plymouth’s sister organisation Outset Finance, said: “Outset Finance has helped its clients raise over £300,000 from a variety of funding sources to either start up, or expand their businesses.”

Outset Plymouth and Outset Finance are part of a £1.2million programme funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Plymouth City Council to support people looking to go into self-employment.
