Networking club sees launch of three firms

THE minds, bodies and pets of Plymouth people are set to pampered after the launch of three new businesses in the city.

The fledgling organisations were officially introduced at Outset Plymouth’s free networking club earlier this week.

The scheme is for self-employed entrepreneurs and is open to anyone looking to set up on their own, or existing businesses looking to network.

Bill Thrall has swapped the classroom for the kitchen, opening his own mobile food business, creating Eastern and Western cuisine.

“I lived in Thailand for six years and I met my wife there,” said the 36-year-old from Stoke. “I trained as a teacher and after spending time in the job I realised if I was going to work that hard I would rather do it with my own business.”

So Bill used his culinary talents to open the food trailer, which is currently based in the forecourt of Mutley Plain’s Bargain Booze. Using the site free of charge, thanks to the kindness of the shop’s owner, Bill is offering Thai food alongside Western fare including gourmet hamburgers and chicken and chips with a fusion twist.

Another business to launch at the club is Cerato Services, which aims to help people to know and trust their inner voice with the use of talking therapies.

“You are the expert of your own life, you just may not know it yet,” said Sarah Green, founder of the social enterprise.

Not only working with Outset Plymouth and Finance, Cerato Services is also support by a self-employment programme funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Plymouth City Council.

And joining the other two businesses at the launch on Wednesday was Carole Ebsworthy, of Perfectly Pampered Pets. The 57-year-old launched a new one-to-one business offering everything from dog grooming and walking to pet boarding and sitting.

“I am really excited now that I have got the business set-up side of things out of the way and now I can get down to the one-to-one personal care of the job,” she said. For more information about Outset Plymouth, visit www.outsetplymouth.co.uk.
