AdminFairies taking on new staff

Karen Reed with two new members: Maxine Dorey and Lucy Train

New business start-up AdminFairies has double it’s staff numbers in response to massive demand for its services over the last few months.

Owner Karen Reed, who has been supported by the start-up business organisation Outset Plymouth and Finance has taken on two new staff, Lucy Train and Maxine Dorey as customer account handlers that provides office and administration support across Plymouth and the South West region.

AdminFairies offers a wide range of office support services to businesses that choose to outsource their administration tasks. These two new roles are just the start of the company’s growth plans as it aims to create two more roles within the next 12 months in the city, said owner Karen Reed.

Lucy Train, 32, joins AdminFairies from RNLI where she worked as an administrator but was laid off as a result of the recent funding cuts. Maxine Dorey, 23, is a community practice graduate and new mum. She joins the business after spending the last year looking after her son.

AdminFairies 4-strong team adheres to processes and systems designed to make sure the organisation runs efficiently and customers get the best possible service to meet their needs.

Karen Reed said: “The current economic climate has been great for my business. SMEs are now being smarter with their time and rather than paying for a full-time staff member to do their admin, they are opting to use AdminFairies as it is much more cost effective.

“In addition, fee-based earners such as financial advisors and consultants are maximising their revenue streams by using their full day to make money – rather than waste their valuable hours on routine admin tasks.”

Outset Plymouth and Finance is a £1.2 million programmes and funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Plymouth City Council to support people looking to go into self-employment opportunities.
